Just when I thought political news was winding down for the holidays, Christmas shopping reports taking over the last sputters of UN shenanigans and the occasional Presidential State Visit, John Flippin Kerry has to stick his nose in Washington’s gubernatorial race, even though Dino Rossi’s been certified and it’s freaking December.

Former presidential candidate John Kerry contributed at least $200,000 of unused campaign contributions yesterday to help fellow Democrat Christine Gregoire keep the governor’s race alive and pay for a statewide hand recount.

He’s in trouble with the party cuz he horded a couple mil. Where’s the rest of it, John?

Even with Kerry’s substantial donation, Gregoire and the Democrats had not yet raised the $700,000 down payment they need by 5 p.m. tomorrow to launch the new count.

Cheap jerk. He’s worth a billion, he’s got millions set aside for campaigns that he’s keeping to himself, and he can’t even fork over the full 700k? What, political unrest in Washington isn’t worth the extra 500k?

“He believes it’s absolutely critical that every vote be counted and that every Washingtonian’s voice be heard in choosing a governor,” said David Wade, Kerry’s spokesman.

Every vote was counted! Twice!
