GM Vice Pres Robert Lutz has a blog!

Welcome to FastLane

The FastLane blog is your source for the latest, greatest musings of GM leaders on topics relevant to the company, the industry and the global economy, and — most of all — to our customers and other car enthusiasts. We look forward to an open exchange of viewpoints and welcome your ideas and feedback throughout 2005.

His biography is here.

See, this is what I mean. Blogs are written by grownups. They’re not a bunch of stupid teenagers writing diaries about the movies they went and saw. I haven’t run into a single blogger younger than I am. They’re all most of them twice my age, with kids my age. And I’m no teenager (thank God). Now if we could only ditch the totally adolescent word “blog.”

It’s a bit like Drexel Univ, and other schools barely lib-arts enough to avoid the monicker “trade school.” Their philosophy is who would you rather be taught by, someone in the field or someone who couldn’t hack it, so turned to education? Those who can’t do teach, right? Just as long as, I suppose, you read the Mercedes VP’s blog (when it comes out) as well.
