Okay, I’m a Reagan Baby. You know what I think of when you mention Roosevelt to me? Not the sanctity and blessings of Social Security, certainly. I think of the fact that he led Americans to sacrifice in order to fight and win WWII. He didn’t have his “Fireside Chats” to talk about how great his Social Security scheme was, and that future presidents better not privatize it.
The fact that they’re trying to use his memory during wartime in order to guilt trip the president into hiding under his desk in the oval office like a cowardly puppy, is just such a twisting of imagery.
