The President of Russia tried putting his official summer residence in another country.

UKRAINIAN officials are trying to reverse the sale of a villa on the country’s Black Sea coast for use by President Vladimir Putin as his official summer residence.

The Glitsiniya property on the Crimean peninsula was bought last year for $US15 million ($19.7 million) by a Russian bank on behalf of the Kremlin.

Featuring an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool, huge gardens and a private beach, it was built in 1956 as a summer dacha for Nikita Khrushchev, the former Soviet leader.

One of his aids really needs to tell him that as much as he wants to be, he’s not in charge of the Soviet Union, and buying Krushchev’s house won’t change that.

Can you imagine if Camp David was on a beach in Mexico? Or Cuba, for that matter.
