My boys saw it last night; I’m hoping to go todnight. My youngest gave it a 5 out of 5, older one a 4 out of 5, and the friend they saw it with gave it only a 2.5 out of 5 because “there were no lightsabers” and “the Jedi starfighters looked like birds”.
Oh, oh, oh. Guess what I saw last night. Tilda Swinton in The Statement. She played a redhead. She is a Judge. An aggressive, pushy, judge hunting bad guys in 2″ heals and above the knee dresses. Very professional dresses, but….
The red hair, alabaster skin, flashing green eyes, smart, aggressive female. Legs that say “I own an elliptical machine.” Like I said – sigh.
Got to go, I have to go clean the dishes from last night before making breakfast. Making eggs, bacon, grits, and toast with homemade peach jam for breakfast. That should clear my mind.
It is better than the reviewers give it. It deals with a touchy subject, Vichy French and the French Jews sent to die and the Catholic Church, but on balance….it provides some depth and complication to the characters. The bad guys have some good angles and the good guys have some bad angles, and everyone is French.
A classic, no. A good movie, perhaps. Worth a blockbuster rental on a slow day. Especially to see Tilda.

I’ve never seen that movie. Good, is it?
Tilda would make a good redhead. But god, those bones!
I had blueberry muffins for breakfast. Out of a box, though.
