Wheat & Weeds – Rahman Noodles His Way Into Italy, Hearts
Sorry. Here’s the story.
Asked why he had decided to convert to Christianity, Rahman, who was speaking in broken English, said: “Because I read the Bible and I became convinced of the goodness of this religion.” “I thank the Pope, the Italian government and all those who have been involved in my case. I am happy to be here.”
Now, I posted that, not only for her hilarious title, but because, in this era of waving Mexican flags in an effort to get American citizenship, of describing terrorist kidnappers as good kind people, and of being the era we live in generally, it’s just nice to see someone say the right thing, and actually mean it.

Does Christianity make one better-mannered, one wonders? That requirement that we love our neighbour making us behave better?

The appearance of a police car improves my driving manners. I think the point is to develop that inner police car.

So one does it without thing. Yup. Or an inner mother-in-law. Maybe not.

An inner mother-in-law would just make you grin uncomfortably as you barely suppress your rage, which isn’t really the goal.

You’ve met my mother-in-law? I’m booked for a bout of her in a fortnight and the nerves are already beginning a-jangling.

Rhamen noodles right below Borglaug – now that’s just plain weird.

No I haven’t met her, but I think they all go to the same conventions.
