‘Tis the first day of Summer here. We can expect AM showers and clouds through the weekend. The tractors belonging to the road crews working outside (have I mentioned we’ve been getting new water mains lo, these four months or so?) insist on backing up (“beeeep beeeep beeeep”) and our windows (did I mention we got new windows a couple weeks ago?) are being painted so I expect painters to be hanging outside the windows here at any moment. Or maybe they’ll extend the suspense again by putting us off till tomorrow.

All things told, it shan’t be a sunbathing-and-bikini sort of day. But still, it’s summer! Or winter! So have a happy solstice, wherever you are in the world!
