President Officer of the British Empire
I like the sound of that.
The Sunday Times – Rudy Giuliani mocks Hillary claim to be Iron Lady
Will has described Giuliani’s conservatism as having “the flavour of Margaret Thatcher’s, of whom it was said she could not pass a government institution without swatting it with her handbag”.
Thompson beat Giuliani to a meeting with Thatcher last summer. The baroness’s blessing is eagerly sought by Republican candidates, who regard her as an earthly representative of the late President Ronald Reagan. Unlike the other candidates, however, Giuliani was awarded an honorary knighthood by the Queen in 2002 for his steadfastness during the 9/11 attacks.

One of Andrew Roberts’ predictions (using the analogy of the way “the Roman Empire” is perceived today) is that the British and American empires will be seen by historians as essentially one continuous entity. So, having a Knight of the British Empire as President won’t be considered at all odd.
Rudy has signalled pretty clearly that he will go after Hillary with all guns blazing. Hillary’s handlers must be having kittens.

I like kittens!
ninme joins the Hillary campaign
Hillary campaign workers wonder why ninme arrives each day with a box
Maybe this’ll all be the start of us coming back into HM’s fold like you want us to. You did once insinuate that we rather over-reacted and would have been better off as Commonwealth members.

Well, you wouldn’t mind being Lady Ninme, would you?
Would the Hillary Bees understand the phrase “having kittens” or is it only something an anglophile would be familiar with?

You’d be very welcome back, but you’d have to take up cricket and rugby, (golly England were bad v South Africa) and learn how to pronounce the word “mall” properly. Before become a lady ninme would have to be an MBE. Which would make the name of this site ninmembe.

OMIGOD!
ninmembe.com. I need to get Peter on that…
I had a fantasy once before going to London that the Queen crossed my path and I saved her from some nut job doing something dangerous (was this after the guy scaling the wall? no before, but something similar had happened I think to put the idea in my head of something alarming but not at all actually dangerous to HM that I could rescue her from but still have everyone in a good mood about it afterwards) and then I got knighted and told I could have citizenship too so it wouldn’t have to be honourary (unless, I don’t know, I don’t think Canadians count because I think the honour system only works for British people, right?).
I can do cricket. I’m pissed I missed that match last month. And rugby? Nooooo problem.

Your dreams were included in a scene in European Vacation.

Oh, and Patriot Games.

As a Canadian you’d have to sort the honours thing out with Steve Harper – no problem there – but I’m sure HMQ would be absol;utely delighted. She loves rewarding merit.

Hey that’s brilliant ninme – when you linked to rugby you linked to rugby league – as played by the magnificent(ish) Hull Kingston Rovers. Meanwhile the rugby union guys are holding their world cup and you just breeze past it! Respect!

Err…
Yeah!
