Ron Liddle, in The Sunday Times:
With an irony rather more delicious than your average high street rogan josh, the Bangladeshis who run our domestic curry houses are moaning that the new immigrants to Britain – from eastern Europe – are hopeless when faced with the task of preparing a naan bread or boiling up some rice. They have no “cultural sensitivity toward or understanding of the curry industry”, they complain of the Poles, Czechs and others – and thus there is a labour shortage. Ah well, there we are. Either teach them to cook your food properly – or stand by and watch as the curry houses go under, replaced by fast-food pierogi stalls. We well remember what happened to our fish and chip and pie and mash shops 40 years ago. You can’t have it both ways.
Oooh… Pie and mash… Curry… Pierogi stalls…

Incidentally, his first item is a rather entertaining rant on Heather Mills and the bizarre divorce traditions on display at the moment.
