Holy Departure From the Book, Batman!
• Well, the new Narnia is a very good movie. Then there’s the stuff (cough the bits where it starts to drag /cough) they made up out of whole cloth. Why do they have to do that? The full hour of battle scenes afterwards wasn’t enough?
• Reepicheep: I admit. I teared up a little at his entrance.
• Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian; or: All ninme’s Favourite Obscure British Actors Cast In A Big Hollywood Blockbuster. When Badger opened his mouth and Ken Stott came out, I almost applauded.

The Prince Caspian book (unlike the others) is a bit of a mess. Can’t fault them too much for departing from it. The full hour of battle scenes is a worry. The books never dwelt much on the actual fighting (except I suppose for The Last Battle) – it was never their focus. In any case, even with stunning visual effects they tend to be boring after a short while.
