Liveblogging the Super Bowl Ads
I didn’t make any Super Bowl snacks (didn’t even remember till 11 this morning) so what else am I gonna do during the actual game play?
Omg, the Audi ad. A+!
3.46: The Pepsi ad was cute, even if it was a Coke ad and the new logo sucks.
The Doritos ad was stupid but it made me laugh.
3.52: Conan’s Bud ad was pretty silly.
That Chuck ad made me really glad I don’t watch that show. In fact I know nothing about that show except what I just, regretably, learned: there’s an idiot in it, and a blonde.
4.03: The Castrol ad, I thought we were over using Chimp babies in ads? Other than that, an unremarkable ad break.
4.07: The Doritos ad and the GoDaddy ad were AWFUL. GoDaddy really needs a new schtick.
4.11: That Pepsi ad was so irresponsible! The Pedigree ad was well-done, tho.
4.14: The draft horse Bud ads are getting a little silly. C’mon people! It’s the Super Bowl! Who besides Audi brought their A-game?!
4.24: The cars.com, tho a bit of a non sequiter, was cute.
Heroes: really? Really?
4.35: BLARGH.
4.40: That Budwieser ad made me laugh. Pixar’s Up, tho? Ehhh, I wonder.
4.44: That teleflora.com ad was so mean! And NOT funny.
4.47: I really liked that Cheetos ad.
5.06: That was a great Sprint ad. Heroes: really? Really?
5.22: That was a quality Priceline ad.
5.27: I really don’t like those X-Box ads.
That was a neat Acura ad. Or would have been if the car wasn’t so ugly.
That Miller High Life ad is now my second favourite ad tonight.
5.38: The Coke ad “was really cute.” -Peter
Denny’s ad was hilarious. Monster.com a return to form. I think we just passed an expensive time slot, at the start of the second half.
5.43: A good Bud draft horse ad! (Even if the accent slipped towards the end.)
5.59: longest ad-free gap EVER. And to what end? Meh.
6.02: Coke is sooo good at this.
6.07: No one else will have seen it but we just had a GREAT Pemco ad.
6.12… 6.18… Y’know, all these (mostly Hyundai) car ads should say at the end “No bailout money was required in the functioning of this business nor the purchasing of these ads.” 6.24: I hate Taco Bell but that ad made me laugh. And GE can always be relied upon for quality.
6.28: I’m typing over the unbearable Heroes-Chuck-That Other One medley to say Alec Baldwin’s Hulu ad just now was great.
6.54: Peter says he needs a new domain… whatever after seeing that last GoDaddy ad.
Update (2.3): I forgot I wanted to try this (hopefully it’ll work cuz it’s the only thing Hulu lets you embed, damnit):

My first trip to the US was on SuperBowl Sunday, and the (American) pilot gave a running update on the score. But I never knew the ads were such a highlight! Anyway, we landed in LA then took the flight to Philadelphia, crashed in the motel, only to wake up next morning to “Happy Groundhog Day!”.
