io9 – Michael Bay Finally Made An Art Movie
Critical consensus on Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is overwhelmingly negative. But the critics are wrong. Michael Bay used a squillion dollars and a hundred supercomputers’ worth of CG for a brilliant art movie about the illusory nature of plot.
The Chinese characters reflected in that picture mean “world exit”. Which makes Peter wonder, “Could Michael Bay actually be brilliant?” Not that it necessarily means anything, but it sounds deep.

The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer was shown at screenings of Terminator and Star Trek that I went to while in Erie – they know their demographic – and it was clear it would be a totally awesome movie. Dude. Totally. Wicked Awesome.
