Not that it’s actually the end of the decade (that’s next year but why be pedantic hey?), but oh what a decade it’s been. I started it out in college, moved to the East Coast, moved in with Peter, graduated college, moved to Seattle, had the bottom fall out of my life’s goals, started a blog (only up to 2004 now), realized I wanted to write for a living, got a job, got engaged, got married, got pregnant, and at the end of 2009 have an almost-six-month baby. And yet somehow, this which was my decade, the decade I was in my 20s, it was a pretty crappy decade. 2009 was a good year for me but politically, internationally, economically, …scandally? Is that a word? Even culturally it was pretty dire. And yet I feel like maybe we had fun.
Or maybe I’m all too close to it and looking back with hindsight it’ll all be just as good as it was for me personally.
