NOVA (on PBS) does a special on the Japanese Quake:

It’s a little annoying that the only people worth talking to are, evidently, Americans (and the odd Brit) but I guess Americans (even PBS-watchers) aren’t interested in reading too many subtitles. And they couldn’t have come up with anything more original than “Japan’s Killer Quake”?

But some of the footage is incredible. The guy in the park filming the crack moving? And the liquefaction? Awesome (and horrible). Then the footage of the actual waves coming in, and the people searching for the bodies, and the new lake that’s appeared in the mountains. It’s a shame we couldn’t have seen more of this sort of thing earlier, rather than the relentless meltdown watch.
