Have You Heard?
They’re killing Google Reader. It’s all going through Google+ now (when I say “now” I mean “whenever they get around to implementing the change).
On the one hand I think this is good because I’m sick of hearing about how important G+ is to Google but then having hacky-ass integrations between it and existing products. On the other hand, they’re breaking THE INTERNET. Jackassery is what it is.
But who knows maybe the third parties will make it work. Since one knows Google won’t.

These things seem to come in threes. First you got busy and stopped the multiple daily postings; then they threatened Google Reader; then Gerard Vanderleun had a heart attack. It’s like I’m supposed to find and read my own news, for myself.
The system is broken. I demand free and effortless news re-distribution and I’m willing to not shower until I get it. Occupy The Googleplex!

God, I haven’t gone near my “blogs” folder in Reader so I hadn’t even heard about Gerard. I’M A HORRIBLE BLOG FRIEND
I used to keep dozens of tabs open for weeks, and I’d reload them all at once. This is back in the day before Powerline got pompous and LGF got psychotic and then Safari would die, badly, and Peter would yell at me to just start using Google Reader. Then Tim Blair it turned out had truncated posts in his RSS so I practically stopped reading him altogether (same with the Corner when they made that idiotic change) and so on. I guess I’ll have to stick to Tumblr. ninme will turn into a not-so-frequent fashion and animated gif blog. :(
